I've only bought Summer/all season tires. I'll be putting them on a Focus ST. What should I buy?

Firestone Winterforces are my favorite winter tire.

Put them on some steelies. That's my only advice and input.

If you live somewhere that gets a lot of snow go for a SNOW tire, if not go for a winter tire. Yes, there are differences. Snow tires are designed specifically for snow use whereas winter tires are generally more intense all seasons.

I've got General Altimax Arctic on a Mazda3 Sport GT. They're quiet, smooth, and grippy in all conditions. I love them.

I've delivered pizzas on Hankook iPike's for the last few winters and had no complaints. They were cheaper than Blizzak's and are actually reviewed higher. Great tire if you don't want to spend a ton of money.

I just bought Dunlop winter sport 3Ds for my ST but I haven't even mounted them yet. My buddy swears by bridgestone ws70s he runs on his 370z here in NJ. You can get them pretty cheap for a snow/ice tire.

I would recommend marangonni ICE 4+ odd ball choice, but Audi put them on our FWD A3. tht little bugger is better in the snow then my moms AWD IS250 on x-ice 2's

not to mention the tires LAST. we have 5 season on ours, and they still have 1/2 the thread they had a at the start. We are replacing because of age, not wear.
just uh. expect the car to be louder and have your MPG drop by one or 2.

My grandmother has an old Mitsubishi Mighty Max with some kind of Falken snow tires on them. That thing is a BEAST in the snow.

Firestone Winterforce, Bridgestone Blizzak WS70, Dunlop WinterSport 3D. The Firestones are absolute beasts in deep snow, the WinterSports are good in snow while keeping more dry/wet road grip and the WS70's are a good mix between the two. Not sure how much snow you get, but we get a lot of snow (200"+/winter) and have had good luck with those tires. The Winterforces were on my wifes old FWD Buick, the WS70's on her Escape and the WinterSports on my STI. The STI on WinterSports is better in the snow than my full size trucks right up to the point that it starts dragging bottom.

Studded Nokians up front, slicks on back. Good luck keeping it straight!

Nokians are amazing. It'd be nice if TireRack carried them, but still not impossible to find.

Blizzak also just released the WS80 tire, which is supposedly fantastic.

Blizzak WS80's, either that or Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2's

I've only ever used Blizzaks for winters, but I really liked them.
